In this article, we focus on what’s new among the IT giants (Google, Amazon, Microsoft, VMware), and how XLEDGER fits in. Since launching their new strategy called cloud computing in the fall of 2008, Microsoft is now offering their web services to a global market. This transition to an internet based platform fits hand in glove for XLEDGER.NET, an on-demand web based ERP system. Our decision to use central servers and internet technology instead of the Windows based application platform sets us apart. Today, online services, cutting expensive hardware costs, are radically changing the IT landscape. These online services include applications like Sharepoint, Livemeeting, and Outlook, as well as ERP solutions like XLEDGER.NET.
